Hi All
We have finally been given notice this week that Pens Meadow School intend to start bookings again from September. This is fantastic news for the club as we can finally reopen and resume club activities from our normal home. The timing also coincides well with local leagues typically starting up in the month of September / October. Although this is great news, there is a lot of work that needs doing to reopen and make the club both successful and sustainable for the future. We are therefore looking for wider support from our members in some of the organisation and running of the club.
The future size and shape of the club will ultimately be moulded by our membership and volunteers. Regardless of how big or little time you have, everyone can make a positive difference for the club, so please offer support where possible
Things you can do to help:
- Volunteer some time back to the club – If everyone gives a little back to sport, the world would be a better place .
- Join the clubs committee and take an active role in the running and direction of the club.
- Support setup / put down during our midweek and weekend sessions.
- Become a team captain or league representative – Local league, British League, County events
- Make us aware if you have any active safeguarding, first aid or DBSs in place – This is
often overlooked but can be hugely valuable in ensuring we can open the doors.
- Support organisation and administration at club events such as tournaments, summer league, etc.
- Consider becoming a coach or supporting our coaching activities. You don’t need to be the perfect or complete player to do this.
We will be holding a club meeting in the coming weeks (date tbc) to discuss club matters and provide further updates on reopening. The meeting is open to all members to attend but please let us know if you are attending so we can suitably accommodate space. We hope to see as many members of the club attend as possible.
At last! Great news Bromley is reopening, can't wait!😊
